It draws from disciplines including cognitive neuroscience, learning analytics, knowledge science, behavioral economics, and educational psychology. We draw upon all of those fields to create education solutions which are nimble and highly effective enough to meet the ever-altering wants of scholars and lecturers worldwide. You will take four courses in the summertime and two courses each in the fall and spring semesters.2All courses have an express focus in arithmetic and/or science. Summer coursework focuses on adopting an fairness-based lens on investigating college students’ ideas.
The NGSS Science and Engineering Practices and the CCSS-M Standards for Mathematical Practice are foundational to our work. In our newly-designed one-year Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, you can improve your instructing in arithmetic and/or science by working with SDSU’s award-winning school. Through coursework designed to connect directly to your K-12 classroom, you’ll explore students’ concepts in arithmetic and science, and investigate how these ideas can be leveraged to help powerful arithmetic and science studying. Since 1999, The Center for Science Education and Outreach has supplied packages and companies that result in scholar academic success, elevated school-going rates and exploration of varied STEM careers for the students and colleges we serve.
